AAA Communications – David Barrett, the techno-man

13 May 2021

David Barrett is a driven man. When only five years old, he was already a techno-nerd with his own electronic robotic kits and crystal radio set, listening to AM radio.

Today, with 30 years’ experience, he is the founder and Managing Director of his own successful firm, AAA Communications, here in Potts Point. He and his family instal computers, CCTVs,  and electrical equipment into homes, offices and factories, and even save lives by installing pop-up internet for uses such as public health. He tripped into his current role. After completing his qualifications in electronic engineering, he worked for General Electric in Newcastle. Prior to that, he had worked as a law clerk for a future judge and in real estate, which gave him a good grounding in presentation and customer service. After years with his GE job, he was looking for a change, and when in the interview, he said, “I am your man”, he moved into a new industry by accident – but all worked out.

He then landed a big contract for the Defence Department with cabling. His later clients included Westfield and retail shop chains and outlets.

He and his staff of eight recommend products tailored to individual needs and bring them into your home or general office. Computers, Telecommunications, Electrical, TV, Internet hardware and software, complete with security-laden devices and back-up items, are all seamlessly installed.

E-privacy is guaranteed with a full back-up service and service warranty.

David believes in the pursuit of excellence and is driven by customers’ desired outcomes. He says, “No job is too small or too big. We are always looking to expand our client base and love creating new relationships.”

He has always lived in the eastern suburbs and currently lives nearby in the Harry Seidler-designed Horizon Apartments, Darlinghurst.

Unsurprisingly, techno-wizardry seems to be in the family DNA. His own children, now 28 and 24 years’ old, were given robotics kits when they were five years old and now, guess what, his five-year-old grandchild has their own set.
