When Cody Hanish says “I’ve got your back”, he doesn’t mean what we might first think.

He’s thinking how to relieve back and neck pain.

He has degrees in human biology and a doctoral degree by clinical internship and an academic programme. He is a Member of the International Chiropractors’ Association whose ethics include putting patients’ care first.

The most common ailment patients present with is back pain and neckpain/headaches. His approach includes a detailed background consultation, an examination based on a clear clinical analysis and treatment which can take various forms depending on the individual. He even has follow-up treatment in the form of his own uniquely-design pillows which are slightly oblong for extra neck support.

His clinic ultilises specialised equipment for decompression therapy to adjust patient’s backs which helps identify and alleviate problems.

Originally from a corn, wheat and bean farm in Jeffers (population 343), near Minneapolis in USA, about 1,100 kms northwest of New York, he shifted to Australia 14 years ago when he received a good job offer and has been here ever since after becoming an Australian Citizen. He brought his ebullient personality with him. Climate was also a contributing factor to his decision to live here. It’s dropped to a shivering two degrees Celsius overnight this week in Minneapolis! But he hasn’t forgotten his provenance: he has two small tattoos “home is where the heart is” and his grandmothers’ initials, to whom he was close, on his biceps.

He describes himself as a carer and loves his profession because it helps people achieve healthier outcomes. Challenges include complex cases with layers of problems which he helps resolve.

And others agree. He has a staggering 3.3 million viewers/followers on social media including Tick Tok, Instagram and Youtube. He is a public palladin for his profession: it’s part of his public role to showcase the how and why of what he does.
